MEMORISE: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.” Gen 13:15-1

God is all knowing and whatever blessings He has bestowed on you as the seed of the righteous must surely come to pass.

Today, we shall survey the victories God won at each stage in preserving the promise so that you can today reap from it.

MANIFESTATION OF THE BLESSINGS OF THE SEED OF THE RIGHTEOUS FROM ABRAHAM TO ISAAC. Gen 26:1-12. Was Isaac to go through the same hard times in spite of the promised blessings hanging over him? No!  God confirmed the covenant He promised his father when he directed Isaac on what to do in a time of national famine.  He told him to sojourn in the same land of famine and receive his blessings. God will do everything within the scope of the spoken word to bring to pass His plans.

God chose to continue the blessings through Jacob and not Esau. Gen 25:23. The forceful acquisition of Esau’s birthright and stolen blessings by Jacob was needless.  The covenant was sealed to pass through Jacob’s loins to the next generation of the seed of Abraham. God’s will NATURALLY PLAYED OUT when Isaac finally pronounced blessings on Jacob. Gen. 27:27; 28:4-5. God equally stepped in and vividly confirmed His covenant of the seed of the Righteous on Jacob in Gen 28:13-15.

In God’s sovereignty, Reuben the eldest son of Jacob was knocked out of being the seed through whom the blessings will flow, Jacob like his father Isaac had penciled down Joseph as the best option for the continuation of this chain of blessings, but ultimately, Judah, God’s choice played out.  Gen 49:8-10; Gen 38:1-26.

God in His special way providentially preserved the seed under Judah’s corrupted plan when Tamar, the Canaanite woman outwitted her father in law (Judah) and went to bed with him to get an offspring (Phares) through whom the seed continued.  God continued this trend in His special way until the New Testament when the promised unique seed, one who was designed to fulfill all the promises, OUR MESSIAH was born.

NOTE:
Through our Saviour, the Messiah, you are the fulfilled seed to continue the dispensation of the blessings in your family. Through you, many shall be blessed.  Whoever blesses you will be blessed and whoever curses you shall be cursed. You are the apple of God’s eye, you cannot be stranded, your blessings as the seed of the righteous will be well spoken of. God cannot lie!

Hymn – Jesus, Thou alone art worthy

1. Jesus, Thou alone art worthy
Ceaseless praises to receive;
For Thy love and grace and goodness
Rise o’er all our thoughts conceive.

2. With adoring heart, we render
Honor to Thy precious name,
Overflowing with Thy mercies,
Far and wide Thy worth proclaim.

3. Praise Him! praise Him! praise the Savior!
Saints, aloud your voices raise,
Praise Him! praise Him! till in glory
Perfected we’ll sing His praise.
