ODM Devotional 16 August 2021

ODM Devotional 16 August 2021 Message By Bishop Dr. Chris Kwakpovwe

TOPIC: My Sun is Rising Again! Res Judicata

BASIC SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 43:16-19; Malachi 4:1-3

Isaiah 43:16-19

16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Malachi 4:1-3

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

ODM Devotional 16 August 2021 Message

Welcome to my LAW SCHOOL TODAY! I am led to remind you again of the principle of Res Judicata (RJ, also known as Claim Preclusion), which is the Latin term for “A matter that has been adjudicated on its merits by a competent court may not be pursued further by the same parties.” Also, it means a case in which there has been a final judgment and is no longer subject to appeal. It also means that LITIGATION (a court case) cannot go on forever! It must have an end!

In the same vein, there is the spiritual dimension of Res Judicata which was once written in this devotional. I am led to repeat it for the sake of someone I don’t know! Listen: Jesus Christ has concluded your case on the cross of Calvary, when He said, “IT IS FINISHED.”

Jesus’ atonement for sin and for man’s justification, freedom and restoration was once and for all and there has been no need for another atonement, and the devil cannot appeal it in any spiritual court! Res Judicata: YOUR CASE WAS DECIDED AND CONCLUDED ON THE CROSS!

The Lord is showing me people who are FEELING GUILTY CONCERNING THEIR PAST ACTIONS, MISTAKES, DECISIONS OR FAILURES, etc. And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that, no matter how your life and the year has been, your destiny has been concluded and there is nothing the devil can do about it unless you give him the power. FORGET THE PAST!

Scream: RES JUDICATA to the devil every day! The LORD says: I SHALL DO A NEW THING because I have given you another chance (Isaiah 43: 19)! Oh, I feel like dancing! He is the God of ANOTHER CHANCE! So when the devil uses your mind to bring REGRETS, tell Him THE PAST IS PAST!

Catch this: “Little faith is enough to see the mountains of sin but not enough to see that Sun of Righteousness that shall arise over them” (Ralph Bouma). I see the SUN RISING AGAIN (Malachi 4: 2)! Don’t quit now! Hear Carl Jung: “We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses.”

Close with this: It is a hard thing to let go of mistakes we’ve made and sins. God wants us to do that because He knows the guilt and the condemnation will keep us from becoming who He has created us to be! RES JUDICATA! YOUR BEST DAYS ARE AHEAD!

Prayer Points!
1. Take Song 1: Higher ground…
2. In your own words, pray about today’s word as led now.
3. Father, I thank You for concluding my case. I will not end in shame.
4. I reject self condemnation and self pity because MY SUN IS RISING AGAIN.

5. Oh God of a SECOND CHANCE, give me another chance! I shall start again! I refuse to weep or mourn! My LATTER DAYS will be greater than my FORMER DAYS (Pray it for 3 days – 3 times daily).
6. Res Judicata! No power shall decide my case this year; my life shall end in praise in Jesus name.
7. Pray about today as led.
