Grace to Prevail – Redemption Daily Devotional 27 June 2021
Topic: Grace to Prevail
Scriptures: 1 Samuel 2:9, Psalm 91:12; 2 Cor. 12:9-10; Ephesians 2:1-6
Key Verse: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor. 12:9.
Living in a world that is dominated by an atmosphere of clouds without rain, wells without water, incessant waves of confusion streaming across the globe, the seeming upsurge of the dreaded Covid-19 believed to have originated from a nation that is now completely free of it and yet other nations are still battling with it etc, one is constraint to lean on Him that owns and holds the world in His palms. These are like the days of Noah where only those that were able to peep into the spectrum of life with the spirit of discernment and to move with the demands of the times despite the popular opinions of the populace were able to survive. You will surely survive.
MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT UNTO THEE. Roms 5:17-18;
No political office, societal position or fame of any sort can give such a comforting environment and soothing reassurance to so depend upon. The threats of danger are all over the place. But in the midst of all these, if only you can hear the still small voice whispering hope into your system that His Grace is sufficient to see you through, you will survive!
MY STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS. 1Sam 2:9; Eccl. 9:11; 2Cor. 12:9-10.
Life generally cannot be defined through any laboratory means. Ordinarily, one will expect those who in their days in school were always topping their class, high flyers as often regarded etc to also be at the top in the society but it is not often so. It can only be postulated. God offers to us a more reliable course to chat in life. When we cease to depend on our abilities and look unto Him, He releases a measure of GRACE upon us that baffles our competitors.
How else can you explain that the former Boss is now servant to his former servant; or that servants are now riding upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth! Better still that the former Boss is now begging to survive from those he trained? What a paradox? You will NOT GO DOWN IN JESUS NAME. God forbids that while you yet live, your life is being spoken of in the past. “You used to be very rich,” “you used to preach and on fire for Christ,” ” you used to go on evangelism” etc. Ho has bewitched? Wake up and be fulfilled!
Hymn – Oh what a wonderful wonderful day.
- O what a wonderful, wonderful day, day I will never forget;
After I’d wandered in darkness away, Jesus my Savior I met.
O what a tender, compassionate friend, He met the need of my heart;
Shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling, He made all the darkness depart.
Chorus
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul, (filled my soul)
When at the cross the Savior made me whole; (made me whole)
My sins were washed away and my night was turned to day,
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul! (filled my soul)
2. Born of the Spirit with life from above into God’s family divine,
Justified fully thru Calvary’s love, O what a standing is mine!
And the transaction so quickly was made, when as a sinner I came,
Took of the offer, of grace He did proffer, He saved me, O praise His dear name!
Chorus
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul, (filled my soul)
When at the cross the Savior made me whole; (made me whole)
My sins were washed away and my night was turned to day,
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul! (filled my soul)
Now I’ve a hope that will surely endure after the passing of time;
3. I have a future in heaven for sure there in those mansions sublime.
And it’s because of that wonderful day, when at the cross I believed;
Riches eternal and blessings supernal, from His precious hand I received
